ZeniMax's latest purchase, id Software, has now released Doom Resurrection, a (relatively) new chapter in the well known first-person game series, for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch.

Available on iTunes, the game features a graphics engine designed from the ground up to take full advantage of the computing power of Apple's shiny devices, has a 'revolutionary' control scheme and offers players eight levels - six on Mars and two in heck (read hell), in which they can use an arsenal of deadly weapons to fight all kinds of monsters and bosses in the classic Doom way.
 

Doom Resurrection costs $9.99 in the US and £5.99 in the UK.
