With two more months to go until Mass Effect 2's release, developer Mass Effect has provided the system requirements of the highly-anticipated action RPG title. In terms of operating system, the upcoming game will work just fine with Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP1/SP2) and Windows 7, while for hardware, it will need the following: 

 

Minimum requirement

 

CPU - 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU

RAM - 1 GB RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7

Storage - 15GB

DVD-ROM - 1x 

Video Card - 256 MB with Pixel Shader 3.0 support (GeForce 6800 or greater, ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater)

 

Recommended requirements

 

CPU - 2.6+ GHz Cure 2 Duo Intel or equivalent AMD CPU

RAM - 2GB

Storage - 15GB

DVD-ROM - 1x 

Video Card -  ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, or better
 

 

 

Mass Effect 2 has also been confirmed as using a simple disc check for protection, just like Dragon Age: Origins. The game will be released for both Xbox 360 and PC on January 26 in North America and the 29 in Europe.
